Don't make me go back!

This is SO FUNNY! Sonia's mother knows someone who knitted this nice little bonnet, sweater and boots for Xavier as a gift. It was very kind and thoughtful of her. Not too many people do that kind of thing anymore. Well Sonia loves it, and Xavier will be wearing this on thanksgiving over his other clothes. I never thought my son would be wearing a bonnet, but number one it actually DOES look good on him, and number two, any way I can embarrass him in the future I'm all for it. He looks like he should be running down some hill in the country somewhere screamin "PA! PA! Bessie the mule got in the outhouse again!" HEE! HAW! Sonia is ordering another outfit just like it in another color. Lookin good Xav'!

Stop the presses! Getting a picture of Sonia to put up these days is a job even the toughest papparrazi would have to work for, but I got it. Aint they sweet?

Well, I'm back to work tomorrow. It was really cool to spend the little moments with muh boy, and muh woman. Everything is so significant. You never know when something fun is gonna happen. Like this morning I held him as I ate my oatmeal. (yes oatmeal.) He found something really funny about that for some reason. He was laughing that baby laugh that made me laugh...then he would pause and watch as I shoveled more into my face, then we'd crack up some more. Dumb stuff like that is what i'll miss when I go back to work. ah well...aint no government bail-outs for commoners and Daddy got bills to pay.

Daddy-centric

That's right, this one is dedicated to ME and my Sonny-boy! When Sonia starts posting again, she can do one for herself HA!HA!. Erummm, anyway, you can barely make it out, but the hat says "Xavier". (it's got a big "X" on the front. Hmm...in the early 90's I used to wear an "X" cap of another sort. Times have changed.) Sonia remembered that Xavier University sells all types of clothing with the name on it so she ordered me a hat that actually fits my big head. If only I could say the same for the hoodie. Oh well, maybe Xav' will want to wear it in about 12 years.
The second picture is of baby-boy taking matters into his own hands. I wrote a couple of days ago that he's holding his own bottle now, well there ya go. Bottoms up Kiddo!

It snowed a couple of days ago! Of course Sonia wanted to get a picture of Xav' peepin out his very first snowfall. He really was fascinated by that messy white stuff. It's like he knows he only has about two years before I hit him with his first snowball. what? I wont get him in the face! Promise. ;^)

Finally, why is this baby smiling? It's because he's talking to his pappy...sort of. this picture should've been a video because he was just cooin' his little hiney off at that moment. "Aughoooo! hehheh..." he's saying. If that's not the face of a future kidder I don't know what is. Strange thing is, I get the joke. Don't like the punchline though.

Mommys love

And here we have a few pictures of Mommy in action bathing little Xav'. As you can see Sonia is getting back into the swing of things after her procedure. All it took was seeing her baby's face get a little dry, and she's jumping out of bed chasing after us with the Eucerin. And Xavier loves it!

BRRReezy...

Can you believe winter is knockin on our door already? Seems like just last week Sonia was telling me she was pregnant! Now it's much later and here we are. Life is just as breezy as that cold winter wind. I have to say 2008 has been a monumental year. It's been awhile since I've taken time to post mainly because so much is going on. After a long but triumphant recovery from her C-section experience Sonia was told last week that she had to have her gallbladder removed! WHAT!?! Yeah man, my poor babygirl had to have her gallbladder surgically removed this past monday, as if her body hadn't been through enough bringing a baby into the world just two months ago. Hats off to you Sonia! My strength lies in supporting you and our son, where does yours come from? Whew!
Xavier began his immunizations last week as well. At first we didn't know what to expect. Y'know you hear so many horror stories about this stuff. "I got my child vaccinated and he turned into the wolfman"...So many shots DOES seem rather excessive, and I really feel for every parent who's had to worry about this. I don't know, all you can do is pray and be thankful for every blessing. The doctor was very reassuring and we feel this is necessary to protect our child so we braced ourselves for what we expected to be a heartbreaking experience. I held his legs as the nurse stuck our boy with those big needles. Much to our surprise Xavier took his shots like a real he-man. He cried about 1/4th of a second, looked at the nurse and growled like "is that all you got baby?" Sonia and I were relieved...and amazed.
As "Bubby" (as Sonia calls him) approaches his third month of life, he is so much fun to watch. He's understanding the use of his hands more, as you can see in the picture of me holding him up there. (he's making sure he doesn't lose that pacifier!) Just this morning he held his bottle for the first time as I fed him which was nice because it freed up my hands to do some very important channel surfing. And he's practicing his vocals also. Is that called "cooing"? Yes? O.k., thats what he's doing. I can tell he can't wait to tell me the meaning of life. And I can't wait to tell him "YOU'RE WRONG BOY!" Anyway enjoy the pics. Love to all!

HISTORY IS MADE!

For three reasons...
Number one: Xavier is two months old!
Number two: We actually heard his cute little laugh for the first time tonight!
And number three? Say it with me friends...BARACK OBAMA IS THE FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!
It's great to be alive.
