Hey Yall!

Well it's me again, boy it's been a long time since I've posted. I'd like to try to get back to posting again, I do enjoying writing and sharing with you all. As you know we are planning to move this monday the 22nd. Moving is fun!!! Yeah, right. I've been packing here and there, I'm such a big procrastinator. Marc did alot of packing while me and the boy spent time at my mother's. I would've loved to post some pic's of Xavier while I was up there, but Marc packed up all the wires for the camera/computer. Oh, well. It'll keep you all in suspense till new pic's are posted.

Dec. 5 was Xavier's 3 MONTH B-DAY!!! What a big boy he is!!!

He loves to take a bath. I can tell because he'll start to coo and move his little arms and legs around. He's the cutest!!! He started to turn on his side weeks & weeks ago,but now he is a pro! He loves to sleep on his side now with his hand holding his pacifier in his mouth. I guess he too gets tired of his pacifier falling out of his mouth. He loves to stare at his fist and put his fingers in his mouth and suck. I have some pic's of him sucking on his thumb. It's cute but I'm not crazy about the possibility of him getting hooked and becoming a...(Turn up your nose)a THUMBSUCKER!.

I know if he starts it'll be hard to break him out of it. It was so funny about a week ago Marc was using the aspirator to suction Xaviers clogged nose. He got so upset at the whole thing that he stuck his thumb straight out, started to vigorously suck on it with his little shoulders scrunched up and a mean look of his face. That was the first time I've seen him suck on only his thumb, he's come close before but never could quite get it in his mouth.

He is the cutest little thing!!! I call him my little doll baby, baby sounds more like(beh-bey). He looks exactly like a little doll and he is sooo sweet. He only cries when he is hungry or if he wants to sleep, He has a very good disposition. He laughs when I come close to his face and say 'Ah-goo, he gets a kick out of it. He is absolutely the best, he's very patient and does'nt like to fuss. He's a very happy baby who loves to laugh and interact with his surroundings.

I cann't wait to post some pic's and video's of him. He is the sweetest.

Like Mel Gibson...

..."Gimme back my son!!!"
That's from the old movie "Ransom", and now I'll go easy on the missing child movie quotes, because Xavier and Sonia are back home this evening. It's been a long week without them, but when I went to pick them up yesterday, I knew that it was time well spent for them. Sonia looks great, and well rested and Xavier couldn't stop smiling when he saw me. Lil' man was actually giddy. Sonia took some nice pictures of our reunion that I can't wait to post, but unfortunately I packed away the USB cord that I need to download the pictures. Oh well...reeeeal gooood, as Sonia would say. Well, I wont let that stop me from posting some pictures anyway. These arent new, but you know I got a million of em in stock...the picture above and below are just a sneak peak at our new townhome! That's the sunroom up there, and that's obviously the kitchen down there. technically what you're lookin at is the model home, but we basically got the same upgrades minus the luxurious furniture! We move in in two weeks, which is why that USB cord is packed away. We're very excited, and blessed.

There's Baby-boy on his way to his uncle Juans place for thanksgiving dinner. we had a good time and he got to watch his cousins do major damage, while dreaming of the day when he will join them!

Mommy and mommys boy relaxin. Thanks again to Sonias mom for everything she did these past two weeks. Debts like this can never be repaid. And thanks to my mom and Uncle Frank and Aunt Angie for the cards full of well wishes. And CONGRATULATIONS TO FRANK, ANGIE, AND ROMAN on the birth of their son/ little brother Nicholas Cruze! (am I spelling that right?) God bless your family, which is our family.

No, Sonny-boy isn't lost in the woods, he's enjoying his jungle play mat. A gift from his Grandmommy, my mommy, thanks very much!

And lastly we have our little one totally usin his old dad as some sort of lounge chair. I love that lil booger. Can't wait to be in the new place so I can take more pic's from there. Keep ya posted, one love!

Like Angelina Jolie...

..."I want MY son back!!!"...
Yeah, to help Sonia get some rest after her gallbladder ordeal, her Mom was kind enough to offer her the services of a home attendant. Only thing is, Sonia and Xavier have to stay at her Moms house (over an hour away!) for awhile to utilize these services and allow Sonia's Mom to cook for her and all that. I know this is a good thing for Sonia. She has been through so much this year and frankly she is exhausted. And she does need more help than I can give her when I'm working up to 12 hours a day. But it's only been 2 days so far and I miss my wife and son. Oh well, at least tomorrow's my day off, so I get to drive up to Sonia's Moms place to see them. It's amazing how much life has changed in these last three months. When a baby is born to love, it's like he (or she) fills a place in the heart of a parent thats been reserved especially for him (or her)since even that parent was created as a baby. Does that make sense? Anyway, Sonny-boy is officially three months this past friday, thank God! He's doin' excellent. Well, Xav' isn't here, so naturally I can't take any new pictures of him to post. That's why you're looking at a picture of Vita cleaning herself. Thats how it is for me on a saturday night...yes things have changed indeed...

Don't make me go back!

This is SO FUNNY! Sonia's mother knows someone who knitted this nice little bonnet, sweater and boots for Xavier as a gift. It was very kind and thoughtful of her. Not too many people do that kind of thing anymore. Well Sonia loves it, and Xavier will be wearing this on thanksgiving over his other clothes. I never thought my son would be wearing a bonnet, but number one it actually DOES look good on him, and number two, any way I can embarrass him in the future I'm all for it. He looks like he should be running down some hill in the country somewhere screamin "PA! PA! Bessie the mule got in the outhouse again!" HEE! HAW! Sonia is ordering another outfit just like it in another color. Lookin good Xav'!

Stop the presses! Getting a picture of Sonia to put up these days is a job even the toughest papparrazi would have to work for, but I got it. Aint they sweet?

Well, I'm back to work tomorrow. It was really cool to spend the little moments with muh boy, and muh woman. Everything is so significant. You never know when something fun is gonna happen. Like this morning I held him as I ate my oatmeal. (yes oatmeal.) He found something really funny about that for some reason. He was laughing that baby laugh that made me laugh...then he would pause and watch as I shoveled more into my face, then we'd crack up some more. Dumb stuff like that is what i'll miss when I go back to work. ah well...aint no government bail-outs for commoners and Daddy got bills to pay.

Daddy-centric

That's right, this one is dedicated to ME and my Sonny-boy! When Sonia starts posting again, she can do one for herself HA!HA!. Erummm, anyway, you can barely make it out, but the hat says "Xavier". (it's got a big "X" on the front. Hmm...in the early 90's I used to wear an "X" cap of another sort. Times have changed.) Sonia remembered that Xavier University sells all types of clothing with the name on it so she ordered me a hat that actually fits my big head. If only I could say the same for the hoodie. Oh well, maybe Xav' will want to wear it in about 12 years.
The second picture is of baby-boy taking matters into his own hands. I wrote a couple of days ago that he's holding his own bottle now, well there ya go. Bottoms up Kiddo!

It snowed a couple of days ago! Of course Sonia wanted to get a picture of Xav' peepin out his very first snowfall. He really was fascinated by that messy white stuff. It's like he knows he only has about two years before I hit him with his first snowball. what? I wont get him in the face! Promise. ;^)

Finally, why is this baby smiling? It's because he's talking to his pappy...sort of. this picture should've been a video because he was just cooin' his little hiney off at that moment. "Aughoooo! hehheh..." he's saying. If that's not the face of a future kidder I don't know what is. Strange thing is, I get the joke. Don't like the punchline though.

Mommys love

And here we have a few pictures of Mommy in action bathing little Xav'. As you can see Sonia is getting back into the swing of things after her procedure. All it took was seeing her baby's face get a little dry, and she's jumping out of bed chasing after us with the Eucerin. And Xavier loves it!

BRRReezy...

Can you believe winter is knockin on our door already? Seems like just last week Sonia was telling me she was pregnant! Now it's much later and here we are. Life is just as breezy as that cold winter wind. I have to say 2008 has been a monumental year. It's been awhile since I've taken time to post mainly because so much is going on. After a long but triumphant recovery from her C-section experience Sonia was told last week that she had to have her gallbladder removed! WHAT!?! Yeah man, my poor babygirl had to have her gallbladder surgically removed this past monday, as if her body hadn't been through enough bringing a baby into the world just two months ago. Hats off to you Sonia! My strength lies in supporting you and our son, where does yours come from? Whew!
Xavier began his immunizations last week as well. At first we didn't know what to expect. Y'know you hear so many horror stories about this stuff. "I got my child vaccinated and he turned into the wolfman"...So many shots DOES seem rather excessive, and I really feel for every parent who's had to worry about this. I don't know, all you can do is pray and be thankful for every blessing. The doctor was very reassuring and we feel this is necessary to protect our child so we braced ourselves for what we expected to be a heartbreaking experience. I held his legs as the nurse stuck our boy with those big needles. Much to our surprise Xavier took his shots like a real he-man. He cried about 1/4th of a second, looked at the nurse and growled like "is that all you got baby?" Sonia and I were relieved...and amazed.
As "Bubby" (as Sonia calls him) approaches his third month of life, he is so much fun to watch. He's understanding the use of his hands more, as you can see in the picture of me holding him up there. (he's making sure he doesn't lose that pacifier!) Just this morning he held his bottle for the first time as I fed him which was nice because it freed up my hands to do some very important channel surfing. And he's practicing his vocals also. Is that called "cooing"? Yes? O.k., thats what he's doing. I can tell he can't wait to tell me the meaning of life. And I can't wait to tell him "YOU'RE WRONG BOY!" Anyway enjoy the pics. Love to all!

HISTORY IS MADE!

For three reasons...
Number one: Xavier is two months old!
Number two: We actually heard his cute little laugh for the first time tonight!
And number three? Say it with me friends...BARACK OBAMA IS THE FIRST AFRICAN AMERICAN PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!
It's great to be alive.

Daddy's boy!

Earlier this week I said I'd catch Lil' X in the act of smilin' and laughin'. Well here it is folks...proof positive that my boy enjoys my antics at only 8 weeks old. He loves kisses, nose pinches, and a good ole funny voice. (mine sounds like Elmos drunk uncle) hmm...he's either laughing WITH me or AT me...what do you think? It doesn't really matter does it? This kid is adorable.

Someone's been sleeping in my bed!

Greetings fam'and friends! As you can see there is a little power struggle goin on over here! I got home from work the other day not only to find Xavier IN my bed, but on MY side of the bed! This is outrageous! Now I should clarify before anyone calls child welfare, Xavier does not sleep in our bed, he doesn't even sleep in our room, but every now and then, Sonia will allow him to lay there. And I've never seen a more content baby. I don't want "wonderbread polka dot boy" getting too comfortable. After all, that bed is KING size, not prince size. That means it's mine kid!
I couldn't resist, there's one more picture of Sonny in his outfit from the day of his photo session. Our little man looked so sharp. I can't wait to do it again when he's awake and smiling. I told Sonia we have to start thinking of doing our family portrait soon as well. The trick will be getting Xavier AND Sonia awake and smiling at the same time! HA! HAAA! (sorry Sweety)
Anyway, you may have noticed the picture where Boyo is looking over Sonia's shoulder. What he's looking at is our clock. He gets really fixated on that clock on the wall. I wonder what this is about. I'm like, You got somewhere to be young'un? Maybe another family somewhere on the low? I've got my eye on this situation. Xavier is still doin his power nap thing most of the time, but he is awake more now that he's coming up on two months. I vow to get a picture of him when he's smiling and "laughing" this week, since it has been suggested by some of my "friends" at work that it's all in my mind! His cries have also distinguished themselves more too. We know when he's hungry (man does he belt it out!), uncomfortable (he's got this whine that sounds like "aww c'mon! work with me over here!") or just bored (like "hellooo cute baby here!") As for when he needs to be changed? No crying or guess work is necessary. My man shoots that poop out with a force that is supernatural. Obama says "change we need", McCain (booo!)says "change is coming", but Xavier says "change me NOW!" And THAT my friends is change you can believe in! P-U!
So ya see the chubby cheeks and the bright eyes. Our boy is blessed, and we continue to thank God as always, and thank you all for the positive vibes you've been sending us.

Xavier

what's this? It seems Sonia has been posting some pictures (some I already posted) with the intention of once again pointing out that our son looks predominately like her. She didn't write anything to go with the pictures, so I will. O.k.! I get it Babygirl, he looks like you! BUT there is some of his old man in there, you better believe it. Our little man has been with us for 6 weeks now, and his developement is astounding. I love how he smiles for me when I play with him or simply when I come into the room. I didn't think I'd get that kind of treatment from him for a little while longer, but obviously this boy is exceptional. When I'm holding him, I notice how he will turn his little head to follow his mother around wherever she is walking. He's doing great and Sonia is making great strides in her recovery as well. We are so blessed and so thankful.

i look like mommy!
